What we access
247Compass reads your device's built-in orientation sensor (the standard browser DeviceOrientation API) so it can show the direction your device is facing.
Some features - Sun Position, Moon Position, and Share My Location - ask for your device's GPS location. This only happens when you explicitly tap the button for one of those features, and the location is used entirely in your own browser (to calculate sun/moon position, or to build a map link for you to share) - it is never sent to us or stored anywhere.
What we don't do
- We do not access your location unless you explicitly tap a location-based feature, and never in the background.
- We do not collect, log, or transmit any personal data - location included - to any server we control.
- We do not use cookies, analytics, or trackers.
- We do not have a backend server - everything runs entirely in your browser.
Permissions
Your browser will ask for explicit permission before sharing motion & orientation data, or your GPS location for the Sun Position, Moon Position, or Share My Location features. You can revoke any of these at any time in your device's browser settings.
